A winning combo! Rafa and Antiqueing in Paris!!!
Boy it sure takes a long time to recuperate from a trip to see this guy! We had a marvelous two weeks watching eventual French Open 2010 Champion Rafael Nadal and sneaking in a couple of days of antique shopping fun. Here is Nita at a street market...
And here's our 'loot' from two mornings of Paris flea marketing. The first day spent at Porte de Vanves in Paris and the following weekend at the one above which fortunately was situated right outside out hotel door and went on for blocks!
It was lovely to meet other Rafa fans from all over the world at Roland Garros and to cheer on our favorite player who incidentally regained Number One ranking at this grand slam!
Rafa following practice
Teresa and new friend Christina from Germany
Big group of Vamos Brigade fans, most from Holland
Cheering with our flags on a blustery day!
Celebrating Rafa's 5th French Open win with a glass of bubbly!!!
And in case you don't follow tennis, Rafa went on to win his 2nd Wimbledon trophy a few weeks later...
In other news, Jane and I are closing out our STD Central booth by the end of July and have slashed prices 75% so stop by to see what's there. I'm now occupying two booths at the new Relics Antique Mall on Battlefield, just west of Kansas and Battlefield intersection. I feel good about this place...it's clean, cool and bright and the people there are a joy to work with. Hope to see you there and watch for their grand opening in a few weeks!
What a trip!!! Must admit, I'm a whole lot jealous. Can't imagine going to a Paris flea mkt.-- some day. can certainly understand why you want to be in Relics versus STD (just the name alone). Good luck! Come see us at Leola's. Jan
